We can collect your Image through photos, or through written descriptions of you, which may include those that pertain to your company.
How do we use your personal information?
We use personal information for many purposes in connection with our functions and activities, including on social media platforms from time to time.
What will you be required to do?
A Powerlink employee will ask if you consent to the taking of your Image for a specific purpose and will send a written notice to you requesting confirmation as soon as practicable. You are required to consent via reply email, at which point we will use the Image for the said specific purpose.
Disclosure of personal information to third parties
Provided that you agree, your Image will be shared with people who are connected with us for the specific purpose. For example, if your Image is to be used for social media, any account holders who are connected with us on the said platforms will be able to access and interact with your Image.
Transfer of personal information overseas
Some of the third-party service providers we disclose personal information to may be based in or have servers located outside of Australia.
Where we disclose your personal information to third parties overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that data security and appropriate privacy practices are maintained. We will only disclose to overseas third parties if:
1. You have given us your consent to disclose personal information to that third party;
2. In circumstances where we reasonably believe that:
a. the overseas recipient is subject to a law or binding scheme that is, overall, substantially similar to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs); and
b. the law or binding scheme can be enforced; or
3. the disclosure is required or authorised by an Australian law or court / tribunal order.
How do we protect your personal information?
Powerlink will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure, including by:
1. Ensuring the security of our premises, databases and records;
2. Taking measures to restrict access to only personnel who need that personal information to effectively record your sign in information; and
3. Having relevant technological measures in place.
We make no representations or warranties in relation to the privacy practices of any third-party providers and we are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of any third-party provider. Third-party providers are responsible for informing you about their own privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Retention of personal information
We will not keep your personal information for longer than we need to. In most cases, this means that we will only retain your personal information for the neccessary duration, unless we are required to retain your personal information to comply with applicable laws.
